The wiki could really use event explanations for new players to the server like myself.
As a new player you're going to be looking through the wiki to try and learn as much as you can about the server.
And events are something everyone loves private servers for the most. It's something nice to look forward to.
But when it comes to event explanations on the wiki there is very little information. Just the name of the event and how to get there which is definitely useful but once you actually get into the event and it begins, you get this feeling of being rushed because the wiki didn't tell you how the event works and the event explanation ingame is moving so fast you have to again rush to try and read everything in time. And that's if you even noticed the explanation at the top of the screen.
Then the event immediately begins while you're reading with no delay, no time to let the information sink in and it could be a bombring event for example and you end up dying or nearly dying because you're trying to read the rushed event explanation.
So it seems there are definitely timing issues with the ingame event explanations. Currently it looks like each line of the event explanation only stays up for about half a second or less. This is no good, especially for new players the explanation shouldn't be moving this fast, it should be increased to to at least 1-2 seconds per line. After the ingame event explanation ends, at least give people a little time for the information to sink in, maybe 10, 20, 30 seconds, a minute before starting the event or it's just going to make newer players feel overwhelmed and rushed.
And another thing I would recommend is don't just say "go to Prontera" or "go to Prontera warp" or whatever it is currently. Add the command to the event announcement like "you can type .@go Prontera then walk downwards into the portal". Because some newer players may not even really know what you're talking about when it simply says "go to Prontera warp".
Maybe an event NPC in each event map would help a lot but new players might not even bother clicking on it unless it's just very hard to miss in some way. With players everywhere in the map it can be difficult to differentiate between player and NPC.
It's important that we always look at things from different perspectives, from the perspective of brand new players to the server, returning RO players who have forgotten everything about the game like myself, new players who haven't jumped into the wiki and just want to play the game again on a private server and try to have some fun, we have to make their introduction to the game and server as easy and painless as possible as they take in all this new information.
