My opinion on it , if u are a new player , have a started character that are newbie friendly, which means you can have a gear that are cost-efficient, and helps you farm your zeny to funds your endgame character.
In my opinion there are few newbie friendly char, but my best choice would be Ninja as job 4 playing physical class.
afterwards, you can decide what would be endgame char, which can deals tons of damage (dps), there are alot of choices that u can choose,
Magic = SA / EM / AM
Physical (melee/range) = Inqui / DK / WH(?)
but the most important part is, that you play the class that u really like, to avoid getting bored of the game in general, since its gonna get grindy soon or later.
