Title: [Short summary of the idea]
Can buff duration be increased to 30 or 60 minutes?
Description:
Buff spells/abilities across each job/class can be evaluated to determine if the duration can be increased without breaking the class/game. If there are serious issues for scenarios like PvP, it may be possible to limit this functionality in those maps/zones/areas.
Why is this a good idea?
It would mean less rebuffing and checking timers or just doing without cause you don't want to deal with it.
What risks or downsides does it have?
I'm not sure if there are actual risks to implementing this. Compensating features, like increasing SP cost, could be added to provide some amount of balance. Each class ability might need to be considered individually to determine if it makes sense.
Additional Info:
At rank 10 spell buffs like Blessing, Improved Concentration, and Increased Agility have a 240 sec (4 minute) duration. Other class spell/ability buffs like Shadow Exceed have a 300 sec (5 minute) duration. In games like vanilla World of Warcraft many buffs were only 5 minutes (e.g. Blessing of Might) and required rebuffing repeatedly. Over the years, those kinds of buffs were extended to 30-60 minutes without any real negative impact to the game.
