Fire Dance is a skill that has very low DPS. That's why nobody builds a character for this skill.
The only way to make it competent and FUN is to make the spamming super fast, use a lot of HP, SP leech and some tankish gears. I understand that you don't get why this is terrible, because nobody plays this build. It's very strange, and very expensive… but for me… is like kicking me out from the server. It's the only build I played for at least 10 years, and the only thing i like to do on my free time: Spam Fire dance in random dungeons. I've done a lot of calculations for this build through the years, i've found a combination of stats that makes it fun to play for me, and i've been slowly starting to rebuild it here. It isn't by far a top tier build, and it won't ever be, even with speed back to normal, but for me is just fun to play.
I know it would sound selfish to adjust the skill just for me… since I'm 100% sure that i'm the only one playing this build… But i really like playing here, i appreciate and follow all the work you've been doing with the server, and i just wanted to say this.
I'm a systems engineer too and I understand your point of view about ASPD… but i don't think that doing this rebalance would benefit the gameplay more than it harms it. That's because the change deviates a lot from the traditional gameplay and… like it or not, most of the people here are (me included) ex NovaRO refugees that want to rebuild their characters and settle here for a long time. Doing this change will impact gameplay in a lot of ways that are small but quantious… in time it will start to get people tired.
I'm 100% sure that a lot of people are feeling the same way as me but not everyone likes to write about it on forums.
