Summer ranking

I've heard the summer ranking will be reset due to some people crying over not being able to win. The ones leading the ranking already spent a LOT of time on it. I get it that some people don't have as much time to play as others, but that goes for everything in the game… the ones that have more time to play will achieve more items and zeny, and that's how the game is. The ranking is about competition… so what's the point in resetting it?

Nina You might have missed the part where it was said to have kind of 2 seasons and therefore two prizes. Similar to how we did with the Spring Netty Food Contest. Nothing is set in stone though, but the goal is not to ignore the accomplishments.

Muh So are the shells we already own going to be lost when you reset? Or can we save them for the new batch of costumes from shell shop?

That's the kind of information that would be very helpful to have in the wiki page so we know what to expect before putting so much effort on it, since it would be very upsetting finding out later that we worked so hard for nothing. Also this ranking system leads us to grind a lot to keep position, maybe that could be improved somehow.

Nina Well, you either want the position or you don't want it. Keep grinding or lose your position. I don't see a problem with that.

Nina You can safely use up your shells - if other costumes would be added with a reset, you won't be able to prefarm for new ones.

Muh I'm sorry, maybe I didn't understand very clear. So I can't save the shells I already have to buy the costumes that will be added?

Muh why is that? It doesn't sound right to keep getting repeated ones since we still have a lot of time to farm until the reset. Only 3 costumes on the shop for such a long event…

So you want to be rewarded for "top player in ranking" and get the "new costumes for free" at the same time?

It's pretty unfair for the players who don't have that much time to rewarden other players twice just because they have more time.

After the reset, everyone has to start all over again, everyone has the same chance to get the new costumes and everyone has a new chance to get into the ranking.
