EvilLumi I'm sorry i misspoke but i guess you didn't understand. Anything after grey is much harder to achieve than just "a couple hours of farming". You still bring irrelevant statements onto this discussion, and I'll gladly ignore it, for your sake. π
I simply didn't see any issue because I never had any issues bridging that gap. Never had any trouble going from illusion to grey because illusion stones for illusion gear enchanting is approachable. Grey wolf has dailies on its own as well as dailies from clearing daily hunts for heirlooms, and guess what? Amethyst fragments π
I think people are looking at this in a weird way where "Why not just farm zeny instead of farming mats" when the gear comes from prior people who have farmed said gears and are switching them over for their upgrades. This is how game economies work by the way. Its a different, but viable, option to getting your gear. I sold my prior gear for less than what I made it for. That's what makes it worth it to buy outright.
Transition: Gray wolf - requires days of farming, and more than a hundred million zenny.
Conclusion: The leap from one to the other, is bounds. It would hurt someone new to even look at.
Solution: Make gear before 200, easily accessible to new players, and lessen that jump, so no further complaints like this are made.
Wouldn't it make better sense to tune the present numbers instead of having to do dev work to introduce other gears into the discussion? The talk about "make gear before 200" is just introducing an extra step before level 200 power spike kicks in, and before they throw their old gear sets out lmao
I think there's a moving goalpost being introduced by asking for massive changes with the progression when the easiest and fastest solution is to adjust the numbers so that the ep18/19 gear is more approachable lol
Obviously we still need to farm these gears, but today we arrived to a point where the grind for these low quality gear is vastly outclassed by farming zenies.
We simply say its more fun to farm for episodes gear rather than being stuck farming zenies from Grace to late game gear.
We are simply asking to calibrate the progression ratio for new players. Or rerrollers.
This server is having a good momentum with a lot of new players. It's a great opportunity to increase its vitality.
I still want to ask @lopobiaelunecaress here what actually they mean by mid game gear? For me I legitimately consider it as Grey wolf or Dim Glacier/Snow Flower, where there's sources of dailies and the materials to make the things. That's why I said perfect enchanting and similar exchanges should be adjusted for ease of use.
Honestly I think the game kicks in post 4th job, and eden and illusion gears cater well to people starting off. Anything past that can be improved by cheap/farmable gear at a higher level to ease getting into ep18/19 content.
To list down some of those things:
Illusion, soutane, 17.2, temporal gears in general
Garment - convertible wings
Accessories - memory of thanatos
Weapons - Glacier and Dimensions (Cheap, easy, and kicks in with no fuss)
Boots - Unknown boots
After any of these points you can already start to farm, or complete, materials for items for craftable equipment such as PCC, Moan, Crown of Beelz, Vesper
If you look at the guides there's plenty of options people have listed out, this is why I think @Maikoa mentioning this as a skill issue is something I can sorta agree with.
I think it only makes sense to figure out what will give you the most progression at the easiest pace, and people get so worked up about bridging some imaginary gap instead of grabbing their levels and getting their power spikes and then getting cheap, bis, accessible equipment that already give them a big boost in damage.
