Hmm, as @Mae says in the opening post, I think the main reason we want to hide mounts/mado and look good is to "show off" our characters and costumes. If I can't show it off to anyone, if I will still look ugly to others, then honestly it's not enough, it still makes me not want to play with that class.
I still think the best way to go about it would be like an alternative sprite, something we can buy with cash points, affects the look of our own character only, and does it for both ourselves and for others.
